First of all let me say thank you for following me and your blog is amazing. I too have been touched my adoption. Thanks to a very unselfish couple who made the decision to give up their baby because they were too young to be parents…I have an older brother. He was eleven days old when my parents brought him home from the hospital, I arrived two years later and my sister arrived two years after me. Although my mom was able to conceive my sister and I naturally, my parent’s family doctor had told my mom that she couldn’t conceive so they applied to adopt a baby and got my brother. I will pray that God brings you a child, maybe two, and that he will be as much a blessing to your family as my brother is to mine.

  23. Thanks for following poemsandponderings.wordpress.com. I truly hope you will enjoy the experience and I pray that you are successful in your quest..This country needs more people who are willing and able to adopt children, as we seem to have so many, who are willing and able to make them but not willing and able to take the responsibitly for their actions.

  32. montysayers says:

Hi Andrew and Sarabeth thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I will certainly follow up on what’s going on in your lives so far as your adoption program is on going, I know one thing for sure my friend that the desire to adopt James is a desire the Lord has placed in your heart, isn’t He wonderful, He first places the desire and then He brings it to pass. I am in agreement with your prayer for James, if you want a boy the Lord will see to it.I will pass your blog site on to others I know and I trust that they will be able to encourage you in your walk. Have a blessed day and remember “all things are possible to him who believes”. Thanks once again, all the best from Sunny South Africa.

  33. Thank you for dropping by my blog, Subject to Change. May the Lord grant you the desires of your heart.

  34. Thanks for following my blog. My Mum was adopted as a baby and had a wonderful experience, her brothers and sisters were not so fortunate and spent a great deal of time in children’s homes in the 1940s and 1950s in the UK. Good luck in finding James, it’s an amazing thing you are doing.

  37. Hi,
Your story sounds familiar to mine. My husband and I was looking forward to adoptin 21 years ago and God brought it to pass. Our son is now 20 years old and in his 3rd year in college.

I can relate to your excitment and anxiety on the issue.

Adopting our son has been the greatest things, 2nd to Jesus that we have done.

God bless you and your family.

    Debra

  38. Hey, I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger award! I enjoy your blog. :) Check it out here: http://glutenfreewewillbe.com/awards/

  39. Hey folks!

I just noticed you started following my blog, so I came to check you out. I like your blog! This was my first stop, so I haven’t had a chance to explore too much… yet. I wanted to ask you something. I understand if you don’t want to answer. What is your motivation behind adoption? Is it something you WANT to do, or is out of necessity because you cannot have children? Sorry if I’m getting too personal too soon, but I’m just curious. When I’m not at work and I have a little more time, I’ll leave you a little bio on me and my family! Thanks for following my blog. It’s part of a nonprofit grant writing company that I’m trying to start (http://www.grantpros.org). We really are in our infant stage, but I’m having an awesome time with it nonetheless! Talk to you soon!

  40. Thank you so much for following me! I wish you both all the best in your adoption process…may God bless you along this path~

  43. MW says:

Thanks for following Blue Stone City. I actually have a post lined up to be published in the next few weeks entitled ‘Adoption’, so I hope you enjoy it. I was also mulling over the concept this morning of God’s bias for working through barren women, and thinking that perhaps He feels the same longing to fill His household with children…perhaps that will be another post. Blessings! Miriam

  44. Sandy Sue says:

Sarabeth and Andrew, Thanks so much for visiting my site and deciding to follow along. Much love and learning on your journey.

Thanks for checking out my blog. I love your desire to adopt a child! We have many friends and family members who have adopted and their stories of how God worked through the process and in their lives are amazing!

  50. It’s truly admirable to see married couples giving up having children of their own and selflessly adopting the children of others! God would be so proud of you guys!

  51. Huffygirl says:

  53. Thank you so much for reading my post and choosing to follow me. I am flattered! I also thank you for leading me to yours which I have also chosen to follow.
You have directed my attention to another aspect of life that prospective parents deal with. I am the mother of two biological children who can empathize with the suspense. Let’s just say it was not easy since I was already advanced in age when I conceived my first child. You appear to be on the right track with God at the helm of things. I believe the journey you make towards your goal is as significant as reaching the goal itself. You are bringing kind and sensitive people together in your quest to make James a substantial reality of your life…and that’s worth a whole lot!
I look forward to further interactions with you.
    God bless you,
    Madona

Hi, I’ve only browsed over your blog, you are adopting, so am I. Actually, our son will be moving in with us in about a month. Don’t know how it’s going for you, but I wish you both the best of luck.

  78. vickielcouch says:

Thank you for visiting my blog. My husband adopted our oldest when we got married. It has been a great experience watching our son grow into manhood knowing he was chosen. It has eased his pain at being so easily discarded by his earthly father. Blessing on you and your growing family.

  79. Hi and thank you for following my blog. I’m walking a different spiritual path than you, but I think our paths just crossed and I HAD to respond. I don’t always post about my son, my blog is about developing my writing skills and writing about what’s in my head at any given moment. Sometimes it funny, sometimes it’s about politics, or music. Sometimes it’s a bit off color. And sometimes it about my son. Many times I have thought about writing one specific story but it never was the “right time” for me. Coming to your blog has shown me its now the time to tell how my husband and I adopted our son. It’s a pretty unique and absolutely AMAZING adoption story, and if it helps you and your wife find your child then I am happy to share. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a secret or anything, everyone who knows us knows that our son is adopted. I just haven’t blogged about it yet.
I truly hope and pray that your prayers are answered soon and that soon you will be blogging about the blessed and crazy state of parenthood!

  80. Victor Ho says:

  89. Hello there, Thanks for following me. I look forward to reading your blogs, I wish you all the best in adopting your first child. I and a new blogger and I blog about different things going on in my life. I especially write about fitness and faith which are very important to me. I’m doing lots of different fitness challenges right now as well as a faith challenge, The Bible in 90 Days! As you probably saw on my blog I finished day 53. I’ve tried this challenge a few times before and this is the furthest I’ve ever gotten on this challenge, I’m really excited about that! I’ve read the whole Bible once before following a year reading plan. Great to meet you, I look forward to reading your blogs and I hope you enjoy reading mine!
    James

  95. Thanks for the follow. On an unrelated note, have you read ‘Desire of the Everlasting Hills’ by Thomas Cahill? I found it insightful. Also, Robert Alter has done a great job of translating ‘The Five Books of Moses’, ‘The Wisdom Books’ and ‘Psalms’ from the original archaic texts into modern english. In his translation notes he discusses Hemmingway & english poets next to details about the old greek & hebrew. Interesting stuff & beautiful too. Cheers!

  109. Hello Andrew and Sarabeth,
Thank you very much for following http://tnlighthouse.wordpress.com and we look forward to reading your posts as well. Really enjoyed “The Horror’s of Christian Theory Part I.”

BTW: My dear Hubby and me: Alameda -> Oakland-> Tennessee-> The Office->Sean Connery 007 Movies – NCIS – Sewing – Gardening and…wait for it…Sweet Tea!

And when “James or Jane” arrives… you’ve gotta read and ‘act out’ all the parts to David and Goliath… Our five loved that.
Rev. Corliss Acosta – The Lightkeeper
    (just call me Corliss)
From Upper Cumberlands Tennessee-”Where the hills kiss the sky”
(not joking-that’s really the Town slogan…was there an Oakland, California town slogan? No, not so much).

From Japan. Thank you for visiting and following my blog. I worry that the article is written by me may wound you. I would like to be scientific, although I do not dislike religion. I hope that you can be understood my language.

  114. Thanks for the follow – great idea for a blog, it’ll be wonderful to look back on once you’ve adopted. Congrats on the book!

  115. What a fantastic idea for widening your exposure. Jeremiah 29:11-13. May God bless your endeavours as a loving family with many hopes and dreams!

  116. Andrew and Sarabeth,

I find your blog to be a beautiful journey to find “James.” And I will be praying for James’ quick arrival.

Andrew, you most certainly have a gift for writing, and it shows that you come alive when you are doing so. And it’s heart-warming to see you use your passion in order to bring you and Sarabeth a child – a child who will desperately need the unconditional love that you both have in your hearts.

I also want to thank you for finding interest in my blog. As you can see, I am someone who finds great happiness in seeing others live with passion. I would love to see more people living, loving, and working with true passion. I find that to be lacking in our society, which is so disheartening to me.

You and Sarabeth are a great inspiration and role model of living with purpose and passion.

And I must congratulate you, Andrew, on your most recent update regarding your book!

Wishing you both all the very best!

  125. Hi there, thanks for following my blog! I have to admit, I’m always slightly surprised whenever I get subscribers who run Christian blogs. Some of the most interesting interfaith discussions I’ve had have been with other Christians though, so I hope we’ll be able to learn from one another, despite our different choices in gods ;] Feel free to email me if you have any questions at awakeninlight@yahoo.com
